Parent Guides

Parent’s Guides to Scouting

The Parent’s Guides are designed to give parents a brief introduction to the section, explain the types of activities young people take part in and highlight the skills young people will gain. These guides support Leaders to engage with parents and encourage parents to get more involved with Scouting.

There are four section-specific versions of the Parent’s Guide resource, which are:

Parent’s Guide to Beavers

Parent’s Guide to Cubs

Parent’s Guide to Scouts

Parent’s Guide to Explorers

‘Stay Safe’ leaflets for young people

The world is constantly changing and there are always new ways to communicate with friends, explore the world and get connected.  Society puts pressure on young people to experience new things, but that can make them feel vulnerable and unsure about the world around them.

The STAY SAFE leaflets contain information for young people about how to stay safe online and in the real world, and how to report something that makes them feel worried, scared or upset.  They are section-specific and available from local Scout Shops free of charge.

They can also be downloaded in pdf format from the links below:

BEAVERS STAY SAFE

CUBS STAY SAFE

SCOUTS STAY SAFE

EXPLORERS STAY SAFE

These can be viewed and download on our Links & Downloads Page.
