The Supreme Boxkart Event: A Remarkable Showcase of Team Spirit and Skill
On Sunday, 15th September, the prestigious Supreme Boxkart event took place at the renowned Goodwood Horse Racing Track, marking a significant occasion in the UK’s cubs calendar. This year, 42 teams, each comprising six enthusiastic cubs, gathered from diverse counties across the nation, including participants who travelled from as far as Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Our own cubs’ participation in this grand event was a source of immense pride. Despite facing stiff competition, they progressed to the quarter-finals, a commendable feat, especially considering that their first encounter with the kart occurred just a day prior, during a practice session on Saturday, 14th September.
The cubs demonstrated exceptional initiative and teamwork as they formed two teams of three, efficiently organizing responsibilities and roles amongst themselves. Witnessing their collaborative spirit and determination was truly heartwarming, reflecting the values we strive to instill in our young participants.
Although our teams were narrowly defeated in the quarter-finals, their efforts did not go unrewarded. Each cub returned home with a well-deserved medal and a group trophy, a testament to their hard work and dedication.
We even managed to fit in a short hike through a beautiful tree tunnel and up to a local landmark; the Halnaker Windmill.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all involved—participants, coaches, and supporters alike. The camaraderie and spirit showcased at this year’s event were truly commendable.
