We have started collecting plastic milk bottle tops to help raise money for Water Search & Rescue to purchase equipment – you can find out more at wsart.org.uk and on the attached flyer. They are part of Local Voluntary Sector Emergencyies Service and are on hand to assit with water emergencies or simply to patrol at busy times. Recently they were on the River Medway over the very sunny weekends.
Bridget Huggett, who has been a Beaver, Cub and Scout leader with the Group, is involved with this organistion and has put a collection bin at HQ for you to put your (washed) plastic tops in. Apparently they can also take other types of similar sized lids such as from large fresh juice bottles.
