REVISED Scouts Of Steel – Sun 29th April

Scouts of Steel, the Bromley Scouts assault course competition is back by popular demand for 2018 with a new course and free on-site activities during the day.

As with previous years, there will beĀ teamĀ and individual competitions plus plenty of hot food and drinks all day included in the price.

Due to the unfortunate weather in the run up to the original date we had to postpone as the site was unsafe and had no running water. Despite this, the show must go on and so the popular assault course competition with a different course and all new obstacles for 2018 has been re-arranged. Following a successful trial last year, there will also be onsite activities provided by the campsite for runners to take part in between races, all included in the price!

Participants can only enter in one category, they can run in an older age category but not in a younger one. Invested Explorers cannot run in the Scout competitions. Ages are taken on 28th Feb 2018 to align with the school years and participants must be 10+.

Food

No need to bring a packed lunch as our excellent catering team will keep everybody well fed at the event. Everyone will get a bacon roll in the morning plus a burger and a hot dog later (veggie options are also available). Hot and cold drinks are available all day. We are also cateringĀ forĀ all the leaders and supporters (free of charge) so please let us know how many are coming!

Camping

All participants are welcome to camp (for free) at Bears Wood the night before the competition from 17:00. Please note this is not anĀ organisedĀ part of the competition. All groups must still arrange their own tents, food, permissions and leader supervision until the start of the event.

Transport

LimitedĀ all dayĀ parking is available although cars parked on-site will be blocked in until the end of the competition. If just dropping off this will be on Court Wood Lane as the site entrance doesnā€™t allow two-way traffic.Ā Car-sharing is highly recommended!
